I waited nearly 45 minutes, staring into what should be the bridge depths are those headlights? across the Columbia River bridge, in 37°F nearly freezing fog in moderately high, but oh-so-snappy cold winds... for a pair of yard engines to return home?! Not to complain, but, dang... just a touch of a let-down after that build-up! (sorry guys - Im sure it wasnt very thrilling on your end, either, waiting that long sitting out on Jantzen Beach waiting for a green). Mixed freight, northbound across a densely foggy Columbia River bridge. |

BNSF 7283 and long line of road power is sitting on the eastern-most of the power-corral tracks while BNSF 2112-BNSF 2674 local yard pair rest temporarily on the middle power-in-waiting rails next to the inspection pit shed - all of which feed into the turn-table spur or road-readiness tank-n-top-off sand-water-and-diesel station to the south of the 39th Street over-pass. To the left of the frame is the new westbound-to-northbound Vancouver Center yard by-pass lane swirling along everything. Further, just off stage left, is my power corral fish-in-a-barrel shooting spot - at least when its not blocked by the new by-pass lane acting as a holding tank for clear rail... which has been an increasing finding markedly reducing my number of shots on any given Sunday. Welcome to my trip to church and another year of Sunday early evening snapping. |
