BNSF 8136 - BNSF 6823
Title:  BNSF 8136 - BNSF 6823
Description:  BNSF 8136 - BNSF 6823 double on double-stack headend going east above the Dalles Dam through foggy hills and unusually calm waters. (If anyones interested in modeling the Columbia River mains in winter, this is pretty prototypical for most of BNSFs run along the north side of the river with the basalt cliffs and sometimes tight drop-offs.)

BNSF 8136
Title:  BNSF 8136
Description:  BNSF 8136 leading her line of loaded well cars east up river... and not to be hyper-critical, because the Sony is zoomed in most of her potential for optical (but not completely) - but my hand is frozen against a steel pole bracing and pressing the camera solidly into it to create a tripod-like effect... plus 1/1000s f1.3 exposure at ISO 800... this image should NOT be this soft of focus. When you get frostbite on your palm and edge of hand in an effort to use every means possible at 1/1000 second images (more than fast enough for this degree of zoom) I expect a lot more than this. And so continues my anti sales pitch. I guess this little trip has proven#what I *wont* be bringing on the next critical photo trip... guess the next travel budget will need an extra few hundred for a Canon pocket snapper to replace what should be a perfectly good Sony. Anyone interested in a used Sony pocket snapper? How the heck Sony rates so high on these small cameras, I will never know - I guess most folks dont want sharpness in their images (yes, it also required severe color correction - sure, a slightly challenging monochromatic scene, but, honestly, needing to have color temperature tweaked, RGB tweaked, contrast-exposure by 20-30% compensated digitally (suggesting ISO 800 was too fast - ISO 200 wouldve been much closer)... wait, if Im trying to sell it, possibly not the best pitch. Dang.)
