Description:  BNSF 2537 last of the threesome at the front of a northbound mixed freight... now if the Sony had been facing these conditions (pouring rain) in last week’s shots, I could make some excuses - but I pack the broken Canon to church with me in an effort to keep as much crap out of the internal elements as possible - which this little Canon is packing half a pair of pants from the looks of it when you look down inside the lens groups... yet I swear, its still spitting out sharper images after more than five years of abuse than the brand new Sony is generating for me. Not sure, but when the trains stop sounding for the crossings, usually it means something... maybe the good folks shouldve considered it a little more before insisting on a quiet zone. Usually those non-W at-grade crossings are seldom used cow-road paths... and the folks want to increase traffic through town somehow? ("But not enough to need a traffic light." Eh, good luck with that.)

(this isnt even counting the rack of pumpkins hiding in the bend behind the 7522 set). It would seem theres a weed in the pumpkin patch and its sprouted a banana... or maybe a dandelion? This also gives a good view of the bend in the middle of the new by-pass lane running along the right of the frame.

Description:  The "new" sort and holding yard being created by BNSF west of Vancouver Center and 'down the hill' (accessed by the new proverbial 'tunnel' (track below the existing Columbia River train bridge)) at the Port of Vancouver near the reversing loop. The longer sort tracks are supposed to help with holding strings of longer cars (although the loop itself (directly behind the photographer on the other side of the auto-bridge) seems to hold easily more than a mile of rolling stock/unit train strings without feeling full). To the right of the frame is Subaru USA where giant guppy ships disgorge hundreds (thousands?) of cars and trucks at a time. The northern aspect of downtown Vancouver is in the distance with the 'iconic round' building top barely visible to the right rear of the frame.
