Description:
CSX 3265 showing up in third at southbound double stack shooting through the station area - and its a CSX, so Im not about to let the lens being covered in rain prevent me from shooting AND posting it, dang it. Less than 15 seconds has elapsed from the time UP 8203 headlamp from the first frame hit the sensor until this one... while shooting practically in the dark with only a little pocket snapper camera... hats off to the little Canon camera. (Admitting a mild tall tale... time is correct, but I did have to release the fire button so it could refocus, so I guess it couldve continued firing, but with all the rain on the lens, re-selection was necessary to prevent it from going macro in the middle (rain on the focusing sensor)).

CSX 3286 lone pusher on northbound mixed freight - in her best attempt at looking like a Norfolk Southern livery (black on dirtier black) in the darkness of premature nightfall in Connell. So much for thinking a trip east would mean getting to see the sun... five days of dense fog - yippee, cant get homesick with this mess.

BNSF 2959, BNSF 2236 - BNSF 1932, BNSF 9276 - BNSF 7423 (hidden in curve/pole) - CSX 3347 - BNSF 7321 - BNSF 4301 (in western power corral holding lane, north lane empty), the middle two unit pair mentioned on deck for the inspection pit shed, and the first in our introduction on a holding stub - with the insidious freight by-pass visible rounding along the lower right of the frame and circling between the viewing area to the right distance and running all along the yard up to the north end where itll join back into the mains at the Lake Shore / Fruit Valley Road over-pass.

Description:
BNSF 9276 - BNSF 7423 - CSX 3347 - BNSF 7321 - BNSF 4301 - BNSF 8085 in the west holding lane behind the RIP sheds and inspection pit; the new by-pass lane in the foreground along with various puddles of liquid sunshine. If I understand it correctly, this concrete tie and high-class roadbed really is a new freight by-pass to clear the mains to help with passenger traffic flow through the area and the station just around the corner/bend to the far (far) left of the frame, running I believe over two miles total length through the back lots and side swirls... and already proving to be a crap-shoot if some mixed freight will be blocking my view of this sort of line-up now that its mid-month and Im typing these things up.

Description:
CSX 3347 near the middle of a hexa-power string, nose to the north, and showing that with a little thought, although its no Chessie Kitten, its something - the CSX rolling stock logo on the side panels... and am I the only one hoping for a heritage kitten? (even though its not the original-original, it was still one of the better modern logos).

CSX 3357
Description:
CSX 3357 as wet monkey in the middle of the southbound UP double-stack hauling bal... uh, moving quickly through the Vancouver Station area (this is only two frames away from the UP 8203 approach shot as I pretty much held down the shutter fire button and panned with the power units (station blur in the background) - dang, night photography when the subject is dancing on your toes is a bit challenging... that or its the drenched equipment, sport coat, and shower head hair that Im not demonstrating... good thing I still have 30 minutes before Church starts, Im sure I can dry out... by next Sunday. (Funny - that was somewhat optimistic.)
