Description:  UP 8706 - UP 4013 - UP 5046 - UP 7636 quad with northbound double-stack in a rotten twist of luck - rain and dark clouds until just before the shutter is pressed (exposure settings already locked)... and a bright burst of sunlight as the trigger is pressed and held down in hopes of catching this fast-freight shooting through almost quicker than I could get out of the car and almost aim the lens downstream. The good news is the rain started back up immediately with a six stop drop in light as soon as she passed.

Description:  New BNSF / Port of Vancouver sort-and-holding ladder yard being laid behind this trio of Union Pacific sisters waiting for duty (typically grain-train in our area - although there almost was a rail-to-ship transfer station for oil (which would've been the largest US west coast, supposedly) - recently vetoed by the governor amid NIMBY (Not In My BackYard) environment concerns in hopes by not allowing the terminal, world reliance on fossil fuels would somehow be reduced... instead the oil-by-rail will continue rolling through our Vancouver so it can head north and ship out from the other Vancouver (British Columbia) several hundred miles the north.

(Dang! I dont want to tell you how many frames I had to dig through to get those registry numbers - when the units are packed in tight like this, its not easy (although youd think after over 320 frames at the Golden Spike Tower overlooking Then Union Pacifics Bailey Yard Id get something... least youd think... until you toss that statistic up from them: 155 trains per day, 70 coal trains, 10,000 railroad cars every 24 hours, 8 miles, 985 switches (dang, and I thought I blew my turn-out budget), 2,850 acres over 8 miles long... and we spent less than 2 hours here... sorry, whining done.)
