Amalgamated Sugar Company (White Satin
Amalgamated Sugar Company (White Satin) processor of the lesser known source of about half the sugar in the United States: Sugar beets. Just because "Pure Cane" has a catchy slogan, doesnt mean its the only name in the game. There is no taste difference (nor even packaging difference in classifying source of the sugar). During fall the flats surrounding the plant would be piled high with large, lumpy brownish sugar beets and their odd odor (Nampa would claim its the smell of money).
