CBRW 1626
Title:  CBRW 1626
Description:  CBRW 1626 with a presumed healthy line of probable spark arrestors on the top of her long-hood (this area of the country vaguely known for their rapidly spreading fires due to dry weather and wicked winds) wearing her retired BNSF pumpkin colors at the moment - possibly awaiting economic good times before getting better make-up.

CBRW 2294 - CBRW 1626
Title:  CBRW 2294 - CBRW 1626
Description:  CBRW 2294 - CBRW 1626 (CBRW 12 just out of frame) pulling hard on mixed freight headed up the incline into the Palouse and Eastern Washington foothills from the Connell Yard area. Presumed CBRW 166 which was later attached to the tail end and no signs of power possibly sick or held for the blind stubs and sidings - although it was held in the yard with various folks poking & prodding for some time before departing Connell.

CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166
Title:  CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166
Description:  CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166 most of the way across the coulee crossing still chugging hard to clear the local off the mains and the at-grade crossings of Connell as she heads up into the hills that wind their way through various local points between Connell and Warden, including Moses Lake.

CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166 - CBRW 302
Title:  CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166 - CBRW 302
Description:  CBRW 651 - CBRW 1626 - CBRW 166 - CBRW 302 preparing to round the corner up and out of the Connell depression (only partial pun intended) as they climb up away from the Class-I BNSF interchange with the local folks. I have to say it, having watched others in various fields, from medicine to shipping and distribution... Ive never seen crews work so well together between ancillary businesses like appear here at the CBRW-BNSF interchange: depending on the day and efficiency in making every maneuver count while reducing the blocked at-grade crossings to the absolute minimum, the two crews of these railroads work extremely well together, and even if one or the other has to make additional shifts, hauls, and drops, before I can figure it out, theyve proven to have arrived at a wonderfully effective solution... so hats off, and congratulations. Somewhere, someday, I hope yall are recognized for what you both do, because the cooperation to achieve the best possible gains, even if you have to work a little more to help out another business, is truly amazing.

BNSF 286-BNSF 277-CBRW 651-CBRW 1626-CBRW 302-CBRW 608-CBRW 610-CBRW 652-CBRW 171
Title:  BNSF 286-BNSF 277-CBRW 651-CBRW 1626-CBRW 302-CBRW 608-CBRW 610-CBRW 652-CBRW 171
Description:  "New" speed hand-off running local-unit grain train up and out of the Eastern Washington hills; I presume having a Columbia Basin Railway unit on the 'outbound' string allows a quick hand-off drop from the larger BNSF SD's (which also have the benefit of relatively straight / slight down-hill grade back to Pasco Yard). Compared to previous exchanges between the Class I and CBRW, this one happens relatively quick. The BNSF then shuffle into the Connell yard to time it between other priority traffic on the main before the three-to-four shuffle to reassemble the inbound grain train before heading back south to the Tri-Cities.

Description:  The Columbia Basin Railway crew headed back up into the hills after dropping the (now split) loaded grain train of wheat into the Connell yard in the background. (Coyote Ridge Correctional in the drizzly distance below their water tower.)

Title:  CBRW 1626-CBRW 302-CBRW 608-CBRW 610-CBRW 652-CBRW 171-CBRW 651
Description:  "Up-up-and-away..." the CBRW six-way now rejoins the lone CBRW unit that had come north with the exchange on the BNSF consist/lash-up, giving the local group seven at the front. (Sorry for any repetitiveness: just not sure when the new yard will be completed (I believe south of here, and completely inaccessible to view), so like liveries dropping into the dust, trying to nab a shot or two "of the way things were."
