Title:  BNSF 6804-BNSF 713-BNSF 3768
Description:  Triple-header on a southbound mixed freight crossing through central Oregon under clear skies - and over three hundred feet above the river below. (Not a lot of trains in it, but this is from our latest Not Another Travel Guide trip: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/879312 ).

BNSF 6804-BNSF 713
Title:  BNSF 6804-BNSF 713
Description:  Southbound mixed freight crossing the Crooked Canyon in North Central Oregon (trip details in our Not Another Travel Guide series: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/879312 - unfortunately, not many train shots - you'll see more trains in our post here than in the book - but it does cover all the other sights to see... plus purt'near all the restrooms along the path). What you can't see (or hear) in this picture is my mumbling and grumbling about how something that huge could sneak up on me while I'm facing the opposite direction trying to figure out the camera's HDR function for shooting the Highway 97/197 bridge over the canyon... while marveling at watching the birds flying *below* us by a couple hundred feet as they 'soar above the water' - because three hundred feet almost straight down is an amazing thing to see with just a little (short!) concrete wall between you and thin air... only to have the weird change in echo to turn and see this starting across the train bridge. So these were pretty much the only shots I could get after quickly flipping through menus trying to disable HDR (which slows my little pocket-snapper camera down to one-frame-per-ten seconds... and blurs all movement) - which leaves "reflex composition" to finally snap the pictures while marveling something that heavy can confidently tromp across something so thin and small... with high broadside winds. It's gotta be quite the ride up there in the cab to watch the world fall away around you.
